The Bu-er-fy

Jacob caught a beautiful (and dead) Monarch butterfly at Grandma and Grandpa's house the other day. Or as Jacob calls them, bu-er-fy. He befriended the creature as it lay dying. They formed a long-lasting, but yet brief relationship before it went off to heaven.
As we were leaving Grandma and Grandpa's house, he asked and asked again and again, if he could bring it home with us. So we wrapped it in a plastic bag, and brought it back for burial.
As you can see in the photo below, Jacob and the bu-er-fy were very close.
And a better view of him NOT looking at the camera.
Later that day, Jacob left the bu-er-fy in the bathroom where Calvin the cat was looming. Moments later, I went back to use the restroom and found the bu-er-fy ripped to shreds all over the floor by the paws of Calvin. Rest in peace my friend.

Monday the hubby and I celebrated our two-year wedding anniversary. He sent me flowers at work on Friday as a nice surprise. (Since we were off on Monday for Columbus Day...I love that man. Oh, and my husband too.)
And us, two years ago. :)
